The Nigeria Handball Federation have expressed optimism that Kano Pillars and Niger United will give the country good representation when the Handball Africa Cup Championship gets underway in Morocco next month.
President of the federation, Dauda Yusuf in a chat with sports correspondent in Abuja stated that the just concluded handball championship held in Benue state will go a long way to beef up the team’s preparation ahead of the continental engagement.
Kano Pillars won the first Samuel Ortom Handball open championship held in Makurdi between March 19 and March 28 2017 after defeating Niger United 23 – 19. Niger United, by virtue of coming second in the tournament also qualified engagement.
The continental handball championship in Morocco will hold from April 12 to April 16 2017.
