5 matches decided over the Easter holiday in the Nigeria National League

Five matches were decided over the Easter weekend across various centres in the country to conclude the Match Day 8 and 5 in both the Southern and Northern Conferences in the Nigeria National League.

Southern Conference leaders, Bayelsa United in Nembe gained only a point to take their tally to 18 points after they were forced to a 1- 1 draw by visiting Bendel Insurance of Benin who now have 11 points.

AS Racines of Lagos were humbled 3 – 1 at home by Crown of Ogbomosho. Now with 16 points, UNICEM Rovers of Calabar hammered Nnewi United of Anambra 3 – 1 to gain 3 points, while battle of the bottom leaders between Warri Wolves and Ikorodu United of Lagos at the Warri Township stadium ended 2 – 1 in favour of Wolves.

Kaduna United won 2 – 1 against Kogi United in the only match day 5 in the Northern conference at the Kaduna township stadium.

Sokoto United lead the Northern conference and are now closely followed by Yobe Desert Stars.
