Super Falcons striker and current African Women Footballer of the Year, Asisat Oshoala has shed more light on her move to China in furtherance of her career.
Oshoala who debunked the belief that players move to China solely for monetary benefit stated that China is fast becoming a home for footballers following innovative steps taken by the Asian country to formally professionalize her league.
“The league there is way better than what people think it is. People that say girls move there because of money or because of fame are basically people who don’t follow female football who don’t know anything about female football because if you look at the Asians, they have won most of the world tournaments.
“They have won the senior world cup, the under-20 world cup, the under-17 world cup. The Asians are totally good, and for me, in the next five to ten years, you can’t compare Europe with Asia anymore.”
Oshoala moved to Chinese side Dalian Quanjian FC from Arsenal Ladies of England early this year.
