NEMA to collaborate with the ministry of health to tackle the scourge of meningitis

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is to collaborate with the Ministry of Health to address the scourge of meningitis in some parts of the country.

The new director general of the agency, Alhaji Mustapha Yunusa Maihaja who gave this indication when he resumed work at NEMA head office in Abuja said he would also get across to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) across the country.

“Within the next three days we shall map out an agenda for the activities of NEMA under my management with immediate action towards getting to the IDPs across the country, coordinating with the ministry of health to ensure that maximum success is achieved against the scourge of meningitis and maintain a state of preparedness across the country.”

He said.

Alhaji Maihaja said the agency under him will move beyond disaster management to preparedness.
