The second edition of the Chika Chukwumerije Sports Foundation (CCSF) Taekwando Prix series competition has been scheduled to take place between June 9 and 10 2017.
CCSF chief executive officer, Chika Chukwumerije explained that the dream version of the competition mainly for grassroots-based taekwando athletes will be open for kiddies, cadets, juniors and adult categories.
Chukwumerije said the whole idea is to get more athletes for the sports.
“We need to take grassroots sports development to a whole new level together. In taekwando, the ones that have not competed before are going to compete in this tournament using the rules and the equipment that the elites have not even used. A key key requirement is, this event is for upcoming athletes. So, this is an opportunity to gain confidence and experience.”
The Prix series was launched in March by CCSF with about 120 contestants within the FCT and beyond taking part.
